Cadiz has a complex access. Located on a small peninsula, it has only one natural entrance by road through a narrow isthmus, to which are added two others built over the sea. The most modern is the 1812 Constitution Bridge, executed and put into service in 2015 by Dragados.

This infrastructure, in addition to having a potential capacity of up to 100,000 vehicles per day, boasts some construction milestones that enhance its magnitude and complexity. Its design and dimensions are, perhaps, the most characteristic. It is the third longest cable-stayed bridge in Europe and the first in Spain, with 540 meters between its pillars. It is also the longest in the country, with a length of 3,092 meters.

Structured in four sections, it has two viaducts that give access to Cadiz and Puerto Real. It also has a 150-meter detachable section that frees up space for maritime traffic in exceptional situations. The cable-stayed section that defines it is 1,180 meters long. One more fact: at 69 meters, it is the second bridge with the largest vertical gauge in the world.
