12-09-2016

The Industrial Division of ACS, through its subsidiary Makiber, a company specialising in the health sector among others, has won contracts for two hospitals in South America. One in Ecuador and another in Bolivia.

In Ecuador, in the town of Manta, affected by last April’s earthquake, Makiber will build and equip a turnkey 150-bed hospital for an amount of 60.3 million dollars. The hospital will be completed by the end of 2017.

In Bolivia, in the town of Montero, Makiber will be in charge of building and equipping a turnkey 200-bed hospital for an amount of 70 million dollars. It is expected to be completed in 2018.

Both hospitals will be built according to Makiber’s own design, already used with success in the construction of other hospitals in Ecuador and other countries of  sub-Saharan Africa.

With these awards, Makiber strengthens its presence in the health sector on the American continent, thus complementing its already significant and historical presence in Africa in both the health and education sectors.
