This initiative resulted in four specific innovations relating to the efficient and clean management of solid urban wastes:

• Research of variables for the acceleration of biogas production in SUW dumps and implementation of a pilot experiment.
• Design and development of an innovative anaerobic digestion model in the dry biomethanization of SUW.
• Development of a dynamic measurement and control system to improve composting processes in organic waste tunnels.
• Elimination of heavy metals in sludge and in the compost obtained at SUW treatment plants.
